The Big Picture believes that stories of a community can be best told by its members. All of us have unique experiences and perspectives to life as it happens to us. Hence, we at The Big Picture invite all enthusiastic individuals to submit furnished pieces/idea pitches if they fall under our themes: indigenous cultures, social issues, and worthy causes.

Whether you are a seasoned journalist or a high school student, your background does not matter to us. What matters is if your story is worth documenting and if you are passionate enough to tell it to the world.

You are also welcome to submit your pitches and collaboratively work with us to further develop it. We can only guarantee publication after we have reviewed your finished article. We expect the piece to be exclusive to our publication when it has been pitched/accepted and is being worked on. If you do not hear from us within a week to 10 days of your submission, you are free to offer it elsewhere.

If you wish to submit a finished article, email us all data (photos, videos, audio, and text) at For pitches, email us a comprehensive write up discussing what your story will be about and why it should be told.

For all submissions, please keep in mind the following:

  1. Attach your piece in a MS Word file.
  2. If you're sending photos, please attach them as separate files or share them via a Google Drive/OneDrive link, or WeTransfer including captions, attribution, and source(s).
  3. Confirm that the article or photos have not been published elsewhere or submitted to any other publication. There is no room for plagiarism.
  4. Include a subject line and a few lines in the body of your email about your submission. Blank emails will be marked as spam.

Happy pitching! :)
